Vale Chris ‘Willo’ Weiland
Bonbeach Football Club lost loyal and popular member Chris ‘Willo’ Weiland on Tuesday, after a year-long fight against cancer.
As was his desire, Willo 53, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a battle that typified a man who never shirked a challenge in his life.
Chris, father of current player Jack Weiland and daughter Amy, played 153 games for the club from 1987-2011, winning the Reserves best & fairest award in 1992 and a 1992-2001 BFNC Team of the Decade member.
Willo was strong, determined, positive and a role model for all – on and off field. It was this positivity that continued to inspire his family, friends and team mates and drove him to make the most of life’s opportunities.
All at the club, along with the wider Bonbeach community offer our condolences and support to Chris’ family and friends at this time. He will be sadly missed at Shark Park.
Rest in peace Willo.

For all that wish to attend, we welcome you to join us at Chris’ memorial on Monday the 22nd of January at Bonbeach Football Netball Club, from 12pm.
